NOCOdance is thrilled to produce an evening of live aerial dance and music with members of the Fresno Philharmonic at the Fresno Art Museum. The Summer Soirée is an exciting first time collaboration between our two organizations and disciplines.
"As a director and choreographer, this has been a dream project. The collaboration with the Philharmonic has been a beautiful process, full of hopeful imagination for the arts scene in Fresno. About 10 months ago, our two organizations started casual conversations about an event. Fast forward through a myriad of details, including music selections, dance and music language barriers, and fitting an aerial rig inside the museum; we've carefully landed on this Summer Soirée. This is the kind of casually elegant event I would love to attend: live music, dancers, aerialists, art, champagne, Fresno summer nights. It is a collection of all my favorite things." Amy Querin, Director NOCOdance
“The Fresno Philharmonic is excited about this first-time collaboration with NOCO at the Fresno Art Museum. Dance with live music has a very special magic and this is a wonderful opportunity to perform for a new audience in a new and different setting.” - Stephen Wilson, Executive Director Fresno Philharmonic
Fresno Dance Collective is Fresno’s premier aerial & modern dance company. The Fresno Bee calls us “Fresno’s leading contemporary dance company;" The Dallas Morning News calls us “breathtakingly athletic;” but you can call us “NOCO” for short. Since 2010, we’ve been expanding the culture of dance through performance, education, and outreach in the community of Fresno and beyond. NOCO believes in fostering creativity through collaboration. That’s why we devote a considerable amount of time working with many local partners, organizations and venues. Proceeds from the night will benefit Fresno Dance Collective, 501(c)3.
